Hi, I'm Sophie, and the first thing you should know about me is that I am a storyteller. I've been told that I romanticise everything, but how could I not? What other way is there to express creativity?
Writing and art direction has always been a huge part of my life. When I was little, I wrote and designed my own bedtime stories called "Butty the Butterfly and Other Stories." I cut up cardboards, used as many crayons and as much glitter as possible to bring my ideas to life, and I held onto that book for many years until it succumbed to the forces of nature.
I've always wanted to create things because it's the only time I have truly felt like myself, . As a graduate of Mass Communication, the next step for me was to pursue advertising. It's the one place where you get to let your mind run wild. I started my career in advertising at an Experiential Marketing Agency (Oracle Experience Ltd), doing mostly behind the scenes work and project management. Later on, I transitioned to becoming a Community Manager and Content Creator at an IT firm where design, copywriting and art direction was a daily part of my life. I moved ahead to pursue a post graduate certification in Advertising- Creative and Digital Strategy at Centennial College.
So you see, there's nothing else I'd rather do, from when I would write and design my own bedtime stories, to becoming a graduate of Mass Communications, to eventually finding my way to the world of advertising, I'd call it a "calling" don't you think? in all of this, I am really just a blend of 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'The Office.'
